How much are costume fees?
Last year recital costumes varied from $90.00 to $110.00. Competitive
costumes varied from $90.00 to $150.00. We have excellent quality
costumes from the same costume suppliers that you would pay over $200.00 at
other studios.

Do you charge an administration fee?
Absolutely not. There are some
organizations that charge an administration fee to sign up.
Sometimes this is a one-time fee, sometimes it is a yearly fee.
An administration fee would be like a home renovation store charging
you extra money to do business with them on top of the product price.

Do you have guest artists dance in your recital?
We do not. The end year recital
is all about the students.
We do not believe that the focus should be taken away from that with
professional dancers in their routines.
Our teachers sometimes will do solo numbers, and a teacher may
substitute in for an injured student so that a routine stays intact.

Do you have to audition for Company?
No.
Taking Company is simply a greater commitment to
dance.
It includes the following classes/routines: Company,
ballet, jazz, production, CDTA Exam and one elective.
The only auditions happen the first few weeks of
classes to determine what Company level each dancer should be in. If
you are interested in Company
you might be asked to take a full year of ballet before entering company.

How many days a week is company? Company
involves dancing 3-4 nights a week.
Extra classes may or may not be on the same nights.
We believe that even a dancer that is committed to company still has
to have a balanced life.
Yet we still have award winning
routines. Most important is
family and school. How many
dancers from studios that do require 5 and 6 nights a week are actually
going to be dancers for their career?

|
Do you have to take Company to compete?
No. Many of our classes are
competitive and only require one day of the week commitment.

How many competitions do you attend and where are they?
We attend three competitions per year.
Any fewer, the routines do not get a chance to improve.
Any more, every weekend in the spring would be at a different
competition once again interrupting a balanced life.
We try to keep two of them in the GTA and one of them in Niagara Falls.

Do dance lessons qualify for the government's
Fitness Tax Credit Yes. The Fitness Tax Credit
allows parents to claim up to $500 per year for each child who is under the
age of 16 at the beginning of the year in which the expenses are paid.
100% of dancing lessons and the costumes are eligible for this credit.
The invoice and schedule that you receive at the beginning of the year are
your receipts for this. You do not need to submit them with your tax
return, but you do need to keep them for six years.
